Life is hard sometimes and when you are feeling the strain, the best thing to do is take some time out for yourself. Treating yourself doesn’t have to be expensive or take up a lot of time, it just needs to give you a chance to stop and relax.
There are plenty of things you could do, but if you are short on time, high on stress and just want the answer now, here are a few ideas for you.
*Get Your Hair Done
Going to the hairdressers can be expensive but having someone do your hair is also one of the most relaxing and fun things you can do with a couple of hours. You can’t go anywhere or do anything else but sit and read a magazine and chill out. Have a look at this hair salon in Davie Fl for some inspiration if you fancy a new cut or have a flick through some magazines so you can show your hairdresser what you want to achieve.
*Take a Long Bath
There are few things as calming as a long warm bath. Throw in some candles and bath salts, dim the lights and, just this once, indulge in adding some more hot water before you start to get shivery. Or you could put on some relaxing music and just recline in the water. Different essential oils can be used to achieve different results; the most relaxing are usually lavender and frankincense but feel free to mix up your own oils to get the results you want.
*Have a PJ Day
If you have a whole day at your disposal, taking a PJ day to yourself is a lovely way to do exactly what you want. There’s no pressure to get all dressed up or do your hair, you can lounge to your heart’s content, watching movies, eating ice cream out of the tub and painting your nails. The Italians refer to this kind of day as the sweetness of doing nothing and though many people struggle with it, you can learn a lot about yourself simply by sitting alone and being with your thoughts.
*Take a Solo Trip
When you have a couple of days at your disposal, you might be tempted to do a lot of chores around the house but if you want to really treat yourself, this could be the perfect time to take a short solo trip. Though you might like to save this for a birthday treat, there is a lot to be said for exploring a new location by yourself and doing exactly what you want with your time.
Whatever you do to treat yourself, the important thing is that you take the time to calm down, forget about all the guilt and stress you carry around every day and take a moment to appreciate just how beautiful life can be. This is your chance to do whatever you want, so grab it with both hands – you deserve it!
