When you think of happiness it can be easy to see happiness as an end result. Happiness isn’t just the result, it can also be the driver for us doing what we do. Think of successful people that you know and all that they have achieved; do they wallow in bed all day or are they up early and working hard to achieve? When you’re happier you are much more likely to be productive, so it can be much easier to get to where you want to be in life.

This may all sound easier said than done, but really, there are small changes that we can make each and every day, that can lead to long term changes in our happiness levels. So what are some things that you could start doing today? Here are some proven ways to give your happiness a boost. It would be great to hear what you think.

We hear all the time about how we need to exercise to be healthier, but it really does have a profound impact on our happiness and overall wellbeing too. There have been many studies that have looked into exercise on our happiness, and so the science is there to show us. You don’t have to be depressed to benefit from exercise, though; no matter your current state of happiness, exercise will help to improve it.

Kick Bad Habits

There are things in all of our lives that we are addicted to, and if it gets to the point of the day where we can’t function without something, then it is an issue that we need to resolve. We can’t be truly happy when we are thinking about our bad habit and when we will next get a fix. It could be something taboo like smoking crack, which you could learn more here about the signs of withdrawal, or something less taboo like being addicted to caffeine or sugar. Either way, they are all still addictions and can takeover your life when you’re not able to deal with them, which limits your happiness. So being able to cut them out is a must.

Sleep More

Sleep is something that is important in all of our lives as it helps our bodies to recover and repair from the day that has happened. Sleeping well can also help you to focus, which can help productivity. But have you ever noticed how your mood is impacted when you have not had a good night’s sleep? It can impact it in a big way, right? Sleep, and sleeping well, can help us to be more positive and help us to steer clear from the negative emotions that might come our way. We all know how many hours of sleep works best for us, so make sure that you put plans in place to be able to get as much sleep as you can.
