How I Went from 400 to 112.8k Monthly Views on Pinterest.

As you can see I have under 231 followers. Although I have jumped from the 90 I had when I began my blog, it still isn’t a large number of followers.

When I began blogging I thought it was fun and simple. I create content I think others will enjoy, I publish said content, and then bam, I’ll have a million page views. Hahaha. Let’s all laugh together now. I wanted so bad for my page views to skyrocket, but it just didn’t happen. Post after post I got discouraged and quit putting out content. Why put out content if I’m not helping anyone? I decided to do a little research on effective ways to boost page views. I found out that Pinterest is a big source of traffic for a lot of bloggers. I already had a Pinterest account and I dove in head first.

This is when I switched to a business account on the 22nd of May.

This is from the last 7 days.

So how in the world did I make it from 400 page views to 20.7k page views with only 231 followers?

Transition to Pinterest for Businesses.

  1. Log into your account.

  2. Go to Pinterest for Businesses.

  3. Click Convert.

I decided when I created my blog that I was going to treat it like a business from day 1. I’m positive this is how I have already started making money from my two-month-old blog. Also, make sure your Pinterest name correlates to your blog and social media accounts. This makes it easier to find you on other social media platforms.

Tailwind and Board Booster.

Pinterest doesn’t really like you if you are not posting all throughout the day. If you post 15 times throughout the day, you get more views than if you pin 30 pins in 30 minutes once a day. Pinterest really likes you if you are extremely active throughout each day, but is that reasonable? Not for this momma.

So I use Board Booster and Tailwind to schedule my pins for me. It takes so much time out of my day and it is worth it! Plus, my Pinterest views jumped significantly. I tried the free trial of both (I didn’t even have to input my credit card information) and decided tailwind was the way to go. I suggest getting the free trial of both, but in the end, Board Booster gives me the most views.

Growing your Instagram? Tailwind also helps with Instagram scheduling (Instagram is another major source of my blogging traffic). Get your free trial of tailwind here.

Join group boards.

I wish I would have been more proactive with joining group boards in the beginning. It helps you get so much more exposure. I am still not on many group boards, but it sure helps. I use PinGroupie to find various group boards.

You can join my group board Blogging by subscribing to my blog, following me on Pinterest, and messaging me.

UPDATE: June 2018

I have grown my Pinterest numbers quite a bit. I fell off the wagon for awhile, but I decided to cut tailwind and up my Board Booster postings. Get a free trial of Board Booster here. (No credit card required).  I now (as on this month) post 1,500 pins a month and my reach has grown drastically. Here are the new numbers.

My following has jumped quite a bit in this last month since I upped my pin count.

I wish I would have stuck with it last year, but I felt as if it wasn’t moving fast enough. One of the things I’ve learned is to be patient. This doesn’t happen overnight. I also am glad I stuck with blogging when I felt like giving up. The rewards may be slow at first, but maybe you will be able to quit your job like I did and blog fulltime!
