It’s okay to not be okay.

Not everyday is going to be a good day. The kids may not be listening and you are at your wit’s end. You and your spouse may be fighting. Maybe that promotion at work went to someone who doesn’t work near as hard as you do. Or maybe the laundry is piling up and you are so tired of trying to be the house superhero. It’s okay to not be okay and it is okay to have a terrible day. After a bad day we have to fix it and move on to begin a new day tomorrow. Here are powerful ways to feel better after an extremely crappy day.

Take a bath.

  • Take a warm bath with bubbles.
  • Use epsom salts or your favorite essential oils. My favorite can be found here.
  • Try a bath bomb. Check out this neat bath bomb kit by clicking here.

Glass of wine or a nice margarita.

  • I am a fan of the occasional adult beverage.
  • After a stressful day pour a glass of your favorite wine or blend up a fresh margarita. My favorite margarita recipe is this one.

Go for a drive.

  • Sometimes just driving and getting a fresh view can help you de-stress.
  • Rolling the windows down and feeling the breeze can also help you think.

Sit by the lake or stroll the beach.

  • I don’t know about you, but there is something about the fresh smell that comes from a  body of water it reminds me of home.
  •  Bring a blanket and snack to enjoy the openness of the water.

Indulge in some chocolate.

  • Chocolate can be a good relaxing tool if used in moderation.
  • I don’t recommend eating a whole chocolate cake, but a mini sized candy bar can go a long way. If you’re low carbing, check out QUEST Bars. They are amazing.

Watch a movie you love.

  • Do you like watching the notebook or the titanic?Or am I the only sappy one?
  • Well anywho, pop in that movie you love and eat some popcorn.

Snuggle with your significant other.

  • Loving on the people you love can release powerful hormone in you brain that cause a surge of happiness and love.

Go on a date.

  • Go see a movie.
  • Go bowling.
  • Kick off your heels and dance.
  • If you can’t afford to go out try some free or cheap date ideas like…
    • Go on a picnic.
    • Go for a swim.
    • Have a water balloon fight.
    • Play paint twister.
    • Watch the clouds.
    • Watch the stars.
    • Have a dance party in your living room.

Play a video game you enjoy.

  • Do you like to unwind with a fun alternative universe?

Read a book.

  • With books you can submerge yourself into a completely different world.
  • You will never run out of good material to read.
  • I recommend Kindle Unlimited. For $9.99 per month you unlock over 1 million titles. It can be used on any device, if you are looking at getting a kindle you can find one here.
  • If that is not an option for you, you can find various ebooks for free or read the demo of a certain book before committing to a purchase.
  • Or check your local Dollar General or Family Dollar. I have found numerous best selling titles for as little as $2.
